Week 3

As I am working on the props, I decided to do some simple basic models just to add to the block out environment. I did a few to start with to fill the level up and make it look more like a city. I also collected some images to get some ideas on what sort of model I could make to put into the environment.

Once I collected a few images of things I could do, I then went in and modeled some simple models untextured. All models are for the block out environment.

During week 3 the meeting I had with the group on Tuesday went well and we managed to get down a definite concept or idea for our game. We spent 5 hours working out what we wanted for our game and if it was able to be done. We also used this time to sort out the presentation for Thursdays lesson and made sure that we had everything which was needed to be presented and so that others watching will understand what game we are going for and the concept it will be.

After Thursdays lesson with the group where we had to present our idea and concept through a presentation, I think personally we have done quite well when it comes to our idea for our game. We had some good feedback from lecturers and some very useful feedback that will help us when it comes to us starting to get the game together and I think as a group we have taken all feedback into consideration.

Next thing for me to do is make another prop, I have been given the task to build a bomb of some sort, preferably a TNT. I think with this prop I may do a few different block out TNT's and see which one the group prefers.

After thinking about what sort of TNT I could do, I went into Google and started gathering some images of different TNT's and getting ideas on what sort I could model. Here is the mood board below.

After talking to the group and getting some ideas on what sort of TNT/bomb I could do, I then went into Maya and started modelling using some of the reference images I gathered to get the right idea for a TNT/bomb and so that the team are happy with it and understand what it represents.

This is the model I did to show the group.

As you can see not much detail but you can tell what its supposed to be, which is what I wanted to get across to the group. After getting feedback from the group they all said that it looks really good, but they mentioned adding some wires to the TNT/bombs.

After taking in the feedback I then went in and added some more little details to the models including adding wires like the group asked.

Here is the more detailed TNT/bomb I did with added wires and little bits which I tweaked to make them look better.
