After this session I quickly drew up some mood boards for the game style we are going for and some of the heroes and villains there are out there.
Here is the superhero mood board I did, just getting the main sort of superheroes out there.
Here is the villain mood board I did, just picked the main villains which I know of.
For Thursdays session with the group we wanted each artist to draw a rough character idea of the sort of superhero or villain that they thought would be good for our game.
After taking in all the notes I went away and worked on a character idea.
This is what I came up with.
I'm not too good at drawing but I just came out with the first thing that popped into my head. You can get the general idea of the character and what its supposed to be, which is the main thing I wanted to go for and to see what the team think.
After Thursdays meeting with the group and both lecturers we spoke about what work we have done so far and what was still needed for the presentation next week. We nominated 2 leaders for our group, one from the CGMA and one from CGP. Once nominated we each got given a role for the project for us to do. I was given the prop artist role which means I am the one who does the props in the level. Props can be things like parked cars, lamp posts, traffic lights etc. Basically anything that you could maybe see in a city. I will next look at examples of games and cities to see what I could maybe make to be put into the level.
